Fostex LR16 Multitrack recorder
Written by Steve Allan

KDK HAVE ADDED THE FOSTEX LR16 TO IT'S HIRE LIST. THE UNIT DOUBLES AS A MIXER AND ALLOWS YOU TO RECORD 16 SIMULTANEOUS TRACKS AT THE TOUCH OF A BUTTON. THE RECORDING QUALITY IS BETTER THAN CD.

Never has capturing a live performance been so easy: Set-up, mic-up, mix and hit the ‘REC’ button to instantly start 16-track recording. No convoluted procedures. No drawn-out configuration process - Just easy operation.

Working with an LR16 is intuitive and simple as it is a real ‘knobs and buttons’ mixer. Each of the 16 channels features balanced mic and line inputs (XLR / TRS Combo), phantom power, digitally controlled TRIM and analog LIMITER, 3-band EQ with swept mid frequency, no less than 3 AUX sends, digital effects and level. And as all these controls are accessed by physical knobs and faders just like and analog mixer, using an LR16 does not require a steep learning curve.

Singing in the rain was a huge success for TWODS. Ticket sales where very good and the show was well received. From a technical point of view it couldn't have been better. Steve put his faith in the countryman B6 for the soaking in the rain song. The mic performed perfectly with not even a hint of drop out.
